Based in Kent’s seaside town of Margate, they source furniture from France and Belgium as well as from the UK, allowing them to offer a wider range of furniture styles.
I have just realised I completely forgot to post a picture of this commission I completed a few weeks ago! It’s a French vintage telephone table painted in @anniesloanhome Graphite chalk paint and clear waxed. The seat pad was expertly made by professional Margate based upholsterer @pohmaluna and I lined the drawer with a charcoal and gold marble effect paper from @ilovewallpaper.co.uk

We are taking bookings for commissions for the new year so if there’s something in particular you are looking for pop over to webbandgray.com
Like it’s feathered namesake Raven is sleek and inky black with a hint of mystery and darkness. This elegant six drawer, solid wood piece made by the high quality brand Stag, would make an excellent sideboard, large console table or, as originally intended, a dressing table. It has been painted in a matt black specialist furniture paint and oiled for protection. Black metal leaf has been applied to the legs giving a shiny metallic finish and a theatrical look. The drawers have been lined with a modern chevron wallpaper and varnished for durability. Matt black leaf shaped handles are the chic finishing touches to this bold, contemporary piece.
Named in honour of fateful French lovers, chanteuse Édith Piaf and boxer Marcel Cerdan, these dusky rose cabinets are both striking and seductive.
This pair of French beside tables, with their elegant proportions and classic curvy legs, have been painted in the very grown up Sulking Room Pink from @farrowandball and waxed for protection. The black rose decoupage from @ilovewallpaper.co.uk that lines the interior heightens romance and drama whilst the contrasting matt black leaf handles enhance the antique meets contemporary look.
Hi folks, well I’ve been busy with Christmas prep and life admin today so I’ve not been in the studio. Sometimes it just has to be done and I try not to stress about it. I’ve decided to set myself very modest work goals this week to minimise frustration and disappointment – I have two new pieces to photograph and list and anything else I get done will be a bonus!
In the meantime I thought it might be a good time to let you know that we are now offering gift cards so if you know someone who might like a piece of W&G furniture for Christmas pop over to our website! They can also be used towards a commission.
Meet Mars! Named (by our smarty pants 7 year old daughter) after the rusty red planet and now available in our shop! Here’s the blurb…
This modern, industrial style piece has been created with a specialist paint that forms a real rust finish to give the impression of a decaying metal cube. It would look great in a modern loft style setting, a contemporary interior or even in a period home dressed as we have here with plants. It could be used as a side table in a living room, a nightstand, a plinth for art or a plant stand.
Please be aware that this is a genuine rust finish and the will continue to change over time. It will also mark easily as it is unfinished but this should be accepted and embraced as part of the developing patina.
